Colt New Navy, .38 caliber. Built in 1904, this U.S. Navy-issue revolver has a 6-inch barrel and hard-rubber grips. The butt is marked “U.S.N.” with an anchor, “.38 D.A. No. 16285,” and the “J.L.S.” inspector’s initials. Navy star inspection marks appear on all major parts. The revolver retains approximately 60% of its blue finish, and the bore is excellent. The “J.L.S.” initials identify Lt. J. L. Sticht, a U.S. Navy inspector associated with Colt and Smith & Wesson Model 1895 .38 revolvers.
