Wise Lite Arms AJM-53 semi-automatic-only reproduction of the Yugoslav M53, a near-copy of the German WWII MG-42. Manufactured by Wise Lite Arms of Boyd, Texas. This substantial rifle retains the outward appearance, weight, and handling characteristics of its military predecessor while operating from a closed bolt in semi-automatic mode only.

It features a stamped and welded receiver, 21.5-inch quick-change barrel, folding blade front sight, adjustable V-notch tangent rear sight, synthetic pistol grips, painted hardwood buttstock, leather sling, and bipod. The receiver is marked “WISE LITE ARMS / BOYD, TX / MOD. AJM53 / WLA29-7384 / 8MM MAUSER” and carries additional military-surplus component markings and proofs.

The wood and grips show general surplus-part wear, including some chips in the buttstock’s black paint, but there are no cracks or structural damage. The metal retains approximately 98% of its original Parkerized finish, with clear markings and sharp screw heads. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion. The action and barrel-change system function correctly, although the rifle has not been test-fired. The top of the receiver is marked for use with military-specification ammunition only.
