Wilkinson W.O. rifle sword sold in 1900 to Major Oliver Stewart Wood Nugent of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps, historically known as the 60th Rifles. The blade is etched “O.S.N. 1900–1926,” and the sword is accompanied by a black-painted scabbard. Overall VG–VG+. A Milner research letter and copy of the Wilkinson ledger sheet are included.

Nugent attained the rank of Major-General and served in both the Boer War and WWI. He was wounded and taken prisoner at Talana Hill during the Boer War and later commanded the 36th (Ulster) Division on the Western Front, including at the Battle of the Somme. Photographs and extensive military history relating to Nugent are also included.
