This M1 Garand rear sight pinion tool kit is complete with all three pieces. New, made in the USA.

How it works: The M1’s elevation knob turns a pinion that raises and lowers the rear sight aperture, and the pinion assembly holds an internal spring that keeps the sight from drifting. When those parts wear or get damaged, this kit lets you take the pinion assembly apart, replace worn parts, and put it back together correctly, a job that’s nearly impossible without the right tools.

Fun fact: The earliest M1 rear sights used a “flush nut” to set sight tension. It was so hard to adjust without a special tool, and so likely to work loose and let the sight fall apart, that it was soon replaced by a locking bar, and later by the improved post-war T105 design.
