Original German Luftwaffe Officers Sword, 1st pattern with the blue leather handle and scabbard. This is Maker marked SMF on the back side of the blade.  The scabbard is engraved Seinem Scheidenden Kommeraden Major Braun 1.7.35-1.4.36  die Offiziere der Fi Gr Cottbuss=From the outgoing Officers Cottbuss Airfield.

The blade is also engraved an abbreviated version of same. Cottbus was the Main Luftwaffe training Airfield. Overall VG-VG+ with blue leather hanger.
