The Model 1900 was one of John Browning’s earliest and most successful pistol designs. It helped introduce the slide-operated design still used on most semiautomatic pistols today, and about 725,000 were produced. It was also widely used by military and police forces throughout Europe.

Fun fact: The FN 1900 is considered the first production handgun to use a slide. It became so popular that in parts of Europe, “a Browning” turned into an everyday word for any pocket pistol.
