This is an original Finnish M40/55 military helmet in green-painted steel. The liner is missing one rivet, and the chin strap is missing. Overall condition is Very Good.

Finland used German steel helmets during World War II, and in 1955 it ordered more from Hans Römer of Neu-Ulm, Germany, built to the wartime M40 pattern. Collectors call these the M40/55, and some stayed in Finnish service into the early 1970s.

Fun fact: The M40/55 shells were reportedly made on the same factory equipment used for German helmets during WWII, which is why they look almost identical to a wartime M40 with the classic rolled edge and pressed vent holes.
