These original Colt 1911A1 grips are brown plastic and date to the Vietnam era. Excellent condition.
Fun fact: The 1911A1 originally wore checkered walnut grips. In 1941, as wartime production ramped up, they were replaced with plastic grips, which were faster to make and held up better in the field. Plastic grips stayed standard through the Vietnam War, when the 1911A1 was still the U.S. military’s sidearm.
