This original British pouch is brown leather, maker marked Riley & McCormick Ltd of Calgary and dated 1915 on the back. Inside the lid it has the Naval N5-G marking and a broad arrow proof. It measures about 7″ x 8 1/2″ and expands to about 2″ wide. Its original purpose is unknown. Overall condition is VG+.

Riley & McCormick was a well-known Calgary saddlery firm, famous for Western saddles and leather goods, and it took on military leather work during WWI.

Fun fact: The broad arrow has marked British government property for centuries, on everything from naval stores to the uniforms of convicts.
