Description
Inglis MKI* High Power – 9mm “One-Off Short Pistol”, Experimental Alloy Frame
An extraordinary piece of Canadian firearms history, this is a documented experimental Inglis MKI* High Power, chambered in 9mm, and featured in detail on page 183 of Clive M. Law’s Inglis Diamond: The Canadian High Power Pistol. Known as the “One-Off Short Pistol,” this is a prototype variant unlike any standard production Inglis.
Key features include a lightweight aluminum alloy frame, shortened slide (reduced by approximately 5/8″), and the removal of the lanyard loop, giving this pistol a distinct and compact profile. It is fitted with full checkered walnut grips, offering a refined and ergonomic handling experience not commonly seen on Inglis models.
Approximately 90% of the original finish remains, and the bore is VG+, with strong rifling and minimal wear. The experimental nature, combined with direct documentation in a recognized reference work, elevates this from a collectible to a truly museum-worthy prototype.
A rare opportunity to own a unique chapter in the development of the High Power pistol platform, especially for advanced collectors of Canadian military arms or prototype sidearms.
