Description

Colt 1911, .45 acp. Built in 1918, this is marked United States Property on the frame. This has all correct WWI era parts to include the diamond cut checkered walnut grips, HP proofed barrel and two-tone magazine. The blue rates about 90% and the bore is excellent. This is accompanied by a Private purchase brown leather suitcase, with a gold US in an oval logo on the side. This travelers case is marked in gold Brig Gen  M.L. Ryan has 3 levels which hold his uniform, mess kit, binoculars etc on 1 level, some documents on another level, and with outlines which hold his Colt 1911, watch, compass, magnifier and some manuals. The case is in overall VG-VG+. A very unique set, of which I have not been able to find another comparable.
