Original U.S. Army-issued Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver chambered in .45 ACP. Properly marked “United States Property” beneath the barrel and “U.S. Army Model 1917” on the butt. Military inspection markings remain on the left side of the frame. Fitted with the correct smooth walnut grips showing light sanding from age and handling. Retains approximately 95% original blue finish with an excellent bore. Developed during World War I to supplement production of the M1911 pistol, the Model 1917 became one of America’s most respected military revolvers and continued to see service through World War II.
