This first issue German WWII Radom has the correct black Bakelite grips, a stock slot and takedown lever, and is German marked WaA77 and P.35(p) on the slide. The slide legend is the later roll stamped type. It has all matching numbers, about 92% blue, and the bore is excellent.
Poland’s VIS was designed as an officer’s sidearm and built from 1936 at Fabryka Broni (the weapons factory) in Radom. After the 1939 invasion, the Germans restarted production in 1941 for their own forces as the P.35(p), with a German acceptance office stamping each pistol. The first German-issue pistols kept the shoulder stock slot and takedown lever, which were dropped later in the war.
Fun fact: Polish resistance workers smuggled pistols out of the factory by falsifying shipping papers and cloning serial numbers. After a 1942 train shootout exposed the scheme, the Germans added extra control stamps to make copying harder.
C&R eligible.
