Original German 1938 Pattern SS Dagger – RZM M7/80 (C. Gustav Spitzer, Solingen) Condition: Very Good+
This is an authentic 1938 pattern SS dagger, produced by C. Gustav Spitzer of Solingen, marked with RZM M7/80 over RZM 1197/38 SS on the blade. The reverse side features the iconic “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” motto, deeply etched with crisp detail, signifying the SS’s infamous oath of loyalty.
The ebony grip displays the inlaid SS runes emblem and eagle insignia. While the handle shows some minor chipping from age and use, it remains structurally sound. The dagger is fitted with a plated crossguard and pommel, retaining most of its original finish.
The scabbard is in fine condition, with a chrome throat, black painted body, and minimal signs of wear. This example includes its original RZM-marked hanger, a rare and desirable addition that completes the piece.
The blade itself is in very nice condition, showing typical “witness marks” from drawing and sheathing over time, but retains excellent polish and edge integrity.
A superb collector’s example with authentic wartime markings—ideal for advanced collectors of WWII German militaria.
